Dharam Devdutt Pishorimal Anand known as Dev Anand was born on September 26, 1923 in Shakargarh, Punjab. It was during the late 1940s when the budding star Dev Anand met Suraiya for the first time.
Suraiya Jamaal Sheikh popularly known as Suraiya, was born on June 15, 1929 in Gurjanwala, Punjab.
She was a sensational singing star and a renowned actress.They met on the sets of the movie ‘Vidya’ in 1948. Suraiya was already an established star while Anand was a new comer.
